Year 5 Weekly Objectives W/C 07.09.2020

 

Literacy

In Year 5 this week, we will be revising:
  • The function of word classes;
  • Types of conjunctions;
  • How and when to use fronted adverbials;
  • Using relative clauses effectively; and
  • Have an opportunity for independent writing. 

Maths

In Year 5 this week, we will be revising:
  • Reading, writing, ordering and comparing numbers up to 10,000;
  • Partitioning numbers up to 10,000;
  • Roman Numerals up to 100;
  • Comparing and ordering negative numbers; and
  • Rounding numbers to the nearest 100 and 1000.

    Literacy

    In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:
    • how to edit, change and develop a piece of our own writing
    • what a telegram is
    • to write our own telegram based on 'Around the world in 80 days'

    Maths

    In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:
    • rounding to nearest 10, 100 and 1,000
    • revision of addition and subtraction column method
    • solve problems relating to addition and subtraction

    • To read scales; and
    • To solve problems involving conversion of measure.

    Year 6 Weekly Objectives W/C 08/05/2017

    It's here!

    This week in Year 6 we will be completing our SATs tests.

    This is an opportunity for you to show off all that you have learnt during your time at Hacton. All we can ask is that you try your best and remember to 'Keep Calm and Carry On'.

    Don't forget to have a good sleep each night and a hearty breakfast before coming into school.
    You must be in school on time each morning.

    Depending on the weather, we will be going to Hacton Park on the morning of Friday 12th May 2017.
    Please ensure that you have full PE kit in school as if you do not, you will not be allowed to use all of the equipment available.

    Year 6 Weekly Objectives W/C 01/05/2017

    One more week to go...

    This week in Year 6 we will be carrying out a final mock SATs week. Children will be completing tests each day under the same conditions as they will next week (week commencing Monday 8th May 2017).

    As this is the final week before your SATs, make the most of the resources that are available to you at home and at school, for example, My Maths and your CGP revision guides. Don't forget that we are all here should you need to go over any areas of learning that you are worried about.
