Literacy

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

• to show a show an understanding of a narrative poem (The Highwayman)
• to plan a fictional story based on a poem
• to use the tone of a poem to write a fictional story

Maths

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

•  to find common multiples and factors
•  to find prime numbers less than 50 and numbers that have a pair of prime factors.
•  to find co-ordinates and plot points on a graph

          

Literacy

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

• about the role of a highwayman 
• how to visualise scenes and create pictorial representations 
• to develop the use of figurative language in writing

Maths

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

• how to round decimals to the nearest whole number, tenth and hundredth
• how to add and subtract decimals to three decimal places in the context of measure
• multiply and divide by 10, 100 and 1,000
