Year 5 Objectives W/C 07/12/15

Literacy

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

• develop comprehension skills of a number of different non-fiction texts
• to be able to follow a variety of instructions in order to create a finished product

Mathematics

In Year 5 this week, we will be learning:

• to be able to find common multiples
• to be able to find factors of 2 digit numbers and beyond

Year 6 Objectives W/C 7/12/15

Literacy

In Year 6 this week, we will be learning:

• to write in the present and past tense; and
• to write a letter for a specific audience.

Mathematics

In Year 6 this week, we will be learning:

• to read and interpret data from a variety of graphs and charts;
• to convert between different metric units; and
• to find different averages (mean, median, range and mode).

Forces in Year 5

In Year 5 we have been studying forces. Children tested air resistance today by making their own parachutes. Results were recorded, and the children then identified the different effects of air resistance.
